Mintbreeze's Pride --- Chapter 3
"This is going to be fantastic!" Inkspot yelled as they walked through the moor.
Mintbreeze smiled at her twin. He had no apprentice and spent his days on patrol hoping no Riverclan cats took their rabbits.
"Its been a while since I've felt pine and leaves under my paws!"
Inkspot was only a tiny bit taller than Mintbreeze. He was leaner and more thin in the face, like his father. The dot around his eye didn't extend as far as Mintbreeze's but he had others on his body, like their mother. Mintbreeze wondered why Sweetsilk couldn't find him attractive. 'Maybe she thinks I'm ugly and she's trying to say it nicely,' she thought. She perked up as she realized that Sweetsilk had never had one-on-one time with Silverfrost.
"So Silverfrost is training Hazypaw?" Inkspot asked, almost reading her mind.
Mintbreeze nodded, "Yes, he said he had to stay behind."
As they crossed into fourtrees, Mintbreeze realized that by training Hazypaw, Silverfrost would be alone with Sweetsilk.
"UGH!" She grunted as she walked fast.
Inkspot looked confused, but didn't say anything. He didn't need to. He knew that Mintbreeze had too much weight on her shoulders and didn't like to explain herself.
"So this Snowmint, you think that she can tell you the secrets of dad's past?"
"Yes, I'm sure of it." Mintbreeze nodded, walking more briskly as they entered Thunderclan. It was nearly nightfall.
"May I ask why you need to know?" Inkspot looked greatly concerned for his sister. She can care too much about certain things.
Mintbreeze paused, stopped, and sat down. "I...I just want to know if Stagstar loves Cloudburst."
Inkspot laughed until he realized how serious she was. "Oh... why is that important to you?"
"I've been doubting the exsistance of love for a while and I want to make sure that Snowmint is out of his life for good. Then he can truly love Cloudburst and we can be a true family!"
"A true family?"
Suddenly a flash of orange fur appeared. Mintbreeze braced herself and waited for the patrol.
A snap of jaws revealed that this wasn't a cat.
"Mintbreeze! There's a fox! RUN!"
